Bratz x Hello Kitty
An adorable collab from two iconic brands- Bratz and Hello Kitty!
If there’s one thing that has stuck with me throughout my life, it’s my admiration for Hello Kitty. I don’t know exactly what it is about the iconic Japanese brand Sanrio and their simple yet engaging designs that latched onto my soul the way they did, but since I was a kid, I’ve always gravitated to it. It’s because of this love for the brand that I’m a sucker for Hello Kitty and Friends collaborations—especially in the doll world!
Knowing this about me, my daughter’s personal shopper (ie: my mom) chose the Bratz x Hello Kitty Yasmin as one of my Mother’s Day gifts. And guys— she is adorable! This collaboration includes four dolls in total: Yasmin, Jade, Cloe and Sasha.
Interestingly, when first announced, it seems MGA originally intended only for Yasmin, Jade and Cloe to be featured in this Hello Kitty themed range. However, due to customer backlash, Sasha was added to the line shortly after the others were announced.
Originally, much of the backlash was directed at Sanrio, with many assuming Sasha was left out because of her darker skin tone, but MGA clarified that the collaboration lineup was decided on the Bratz end, clearing up misconceptions.
Because Sasha was announced late, pre-orders placed in November 2025 aren’t due to ship until June 2026, so this doll has yet to truly make her grand debut. No word yet on what stores, if any, she'll appear in beyond the Bratz website. It's a shame because, of the four girls, Yasmin and Sasha are the cutest.
Now that we’ve covered the line, let’s dive into talking about Yasmin. Confession: I’m not a Bratz girl. There have been a handful of Bratz dolls that have found their way into my collection, but honestly, most of the time, I’m just not a fan. The mean-girl vibe some of their faces give off is just not for me. That being said, I know some people love them and that’s totally fine! And there are a few, as I said, that I’ve appreciated. This doll is one of them!
I love Yasmin’s look— head to toe! Her pigtails are soft and voluminous. They look great with her tan skin, blue eyes and bright red lips. Her outfit is simple with some flair thrown in to enhance the collaboration between Bratz and Hello Kitty. The Hello Kitty theming can be seen in all aspects of her design. Starting with the more ‘on-the-nose’ design elements, an outline of Hello Kitty is featured on Yasmin’s bright red crop top and white bows are drawn up and down her wide-leg pants.
Some smaller, less in-your-face nods to the brand are seen in her headphones and skirt, which have small images of apples, lunchboxes, milk jugs and other elements commonly seen alongside Hello Kitty in many Sanrio designs. She also comes with a white purse and stand.
I personally won’t be adding her friends to my collection, as, Sasha aside, I don’t love the look of Jade and Cloe. Sasha is tempting, but not being a Bratz collector, I can go either way on adding her to my collection. What do you think of this collab between Sanrio’s Hello Kitty and MGA’s Bratz dolls? I collected Bratz between 2002 and 2008, I think? Loved the clothes and the details in the accessories like pluche animals with the pyama dolls. I bought one or two from the reboot but these look really cute, so who knows?
