I will say, I thought the "expert" was way off base, and honestly seemed very dismissive of the Monster High dolls in general. Please, show me where I can get a first edition or SDCC black and white Frankie for $10! Also, it was clear she really wasn't a specific doll expert because out of box collecting is SUPER commen in the doll community and all the in box talk was hella elitest. I am glad you found her nice, because I was low key infuriated listening to her talk. 🤷♀️
That was well written and all so interesting about the episode shoot, Kewpie! I loved watching it, and though my Brother was busy during it, he wanted to see it too, so I found it online to watch again with him.
Yes, I think your collection was undervalued, though I'm confused on whether it was just your collection that was valued, or both yours and your mother's collections together. I got the impression that the expert was not a doll collector herself, which was disappointing, given that Collector's Call has found specific experts for other collections.
But it's great to see dolls featured on tv, it's become so rare. It would be terrific to see your mom's collection featured on the show!
